I ordered this for my kids... and maybe a little for me. It is really fun to share some of my childhood with them. The look and feel is great and it works perfect for my old games that I saved for all these years. In my opinion it was worth the price, vs buying an original that might have problems... I'm not super tech savvy, so fixer-uppers aren't really something I would want to deal with.

Took apart to replace the a and b buttons because they spin, and b buttons kept sticking. Broke 2 tiny tiny wires soldering and now won't work.

The SP looks great. The upgraded screen looks so much better compared to the original screen.
I really like the SP but I can not give it a full 5 stars. My B button some times gets stuck and I will have to wiggle and pull on it to get it back up. When I put the volume slider all the way down for no sound. Than move it up for sound. The speaker will make a pop noise but no game sound will go through. It will be silent. I will have to keep moving the volume slider to keep making it "pop" and maybe it will work. If I never put the volume slider all the way down I will not have that issue so I do not fully turn off the volume.
But I still enjoy it and I will still say order one. Maybe just keep do not do upgraded speakers or it could me a old board or a one off

Had some initial issues but Jay sent back some solid information that helped get this bad boy up and running. Sleek and the envy of of my chaps. This guy does work, and the end results make me feel like I'm young. I plan on buying again.

Functions fine - buttons are crisp. Screen light, headphone jack, charging port mods work well.
Volume slider is stuck; moves very slightly between its 'off' and 'barely on' positions, making audio hard to come out.
Also, colors were a surprise. I was expecting an open line of communication to the modder once I placed my order, so I could see the build in progress and make corrections to the button color choice. Alas, the only notification I got was once it was already built and shipped away.

Took a little while, but was absolutely worth the wait, I did not realize just how much I missed having a Game Boy, having lost mine when I moved away as a kid all those years ago, but I never forgot about it as it was my very first gaming console. I have been playing this thing pretty much any time I have free time, and I absolutely love it. It is the best nostalgic feeling to rediscover many of the games I used to play.

The system looks super clean, nearly flawless! It was prepared and shipped super quickly and arrived much faster than anticipated! Had a slight issue reading my recently played GBA carts at first, but my questions and concerns were addressed promptly and also solved. I have since put 50-ish hours into 5 different carts with this system and have had zero issues! The system feels like it is brand new and playing these games on it has me feeling like it's 2006 again! I am definitely very satisfied with my purchase and I will be coming back when it is time to expand my collection once again. If a friend wanted to get a custom system I would definitely recommend this shop to them!

First impressions on the gameboy is that it looks amazing. Groundon case with the black tactile buttons looks great and I love the rainbow lettering under the screen that adds a great touch. Theres not even a scratch on the whole thing.
Unfortunately I don't think it's worth the $300 price tag though. I got tactile buttons with extended battery life and the battery life was worth it but the tactile buttons aren't that good. The buttons on my original gameboy is wayyy more responsive and feels better to press. The screen that came with my game boy is almost amazing. The pixels are crisper, theirs 6 brightness options and it's wayy brighter than an original. Buttttt my gameboys screen came with a color stain in the bottom left corner that's an eyesore to look at.
Other than the color stain and the tactile buttons, the game boy is amazing and only took a month to ship after purchasing. Wouldn't buy again in hindsight but it looks great

Had shipping problems (purely a USPS problem) but the seller responded very quickly and was cooperative throughout the whole process. The console came out really well and works like a charm. Bought it as a gift and I'm sure they'll love it.

The SP is in immaculate conduction, both looking and playing amazing. The sound upgrade does cause the power on sound to crack but no issues with the game sound so far. Audio jack appears to have issue with my headset with mic connector, but works great with my two pro connector. I guess it’s a limitation.
Definitely enjoying having an SP again.
